Soon, the year would be over, yet the end is a hot-cold affair. My current Toshiba M200 laptop, though still working, has a damaged motherboard and would probably be replaced by year's end. A new pair of jeans, bought from Jusco last week, was altered too short and now awaiting a similarly-colored cloth for an extra inch. Inje interview... I'll be sure to improve myself after this. However, as bad as it may seem, a lot of good things have happened during this holidays, including freeing up space on my bookshelves, starting to read more books, repairing my Gundams, eating more than my fair share of good food... Guess I shouldn't have complained, eh?
Looking back, this year, too, has been a roller-coaster ride. Looking back at the pictures I've taken, there has been trips to many places, basically exploring every corner of KL, some with my family and some with Wan Shi. Lookout Point, the National Museum, KL Tower, Malacca, JYJ event at Bintang Walk, Malaysian Badminton Open finals at Bukit Jalil, to some less glamourous ones such as Carmen's workplace (forgot where's that place d, somewhere near IKEA), Chow Kit, UM Hospital, the Summit, Amcorp Mall, Litt Tak factory, Ipoh's famous chicken rice... The journey has been bountiful and beautiful, and hopefully there are more places to travel next year.
Entertainment-wise, I've seen great movies, from Alice in Wonderland, Despicable Me, How to Train Your Dragon, Iron Man 2, Inception, Kick-Ass, Prince of Persia, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, The Sorceror's Apprentice, Toy Story 3, Reign of Assassins, Tron: Legacy... to anime-related ones like FateStay Night: Unlimited Bladeworks, The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi, and Gundam 00: A Wakening of the Trailblazer. Animes like K-ON!!, Katanagatari, Angel Beats, Amagami SS, Baka to Test to Shokanju, Durarara!!, Occult Academy, Gundam Unicorn, Working!! and Ika Musume will be remembered, and for a moment before the DVD (and my laptop) got damaged, the best PC game, Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty. I will be forever grateful for my MG Astray Blue Frame 2nd Revise, HGUC Sinanju, and my introduction to TT Hongli kits. It's been a long way, and it seems I just need to learn up Japanese to become a complete otaku.
Yes, in my mid-year, I've stayed in KL for extra lessons, and I feel more detached than ever from both my Penang and KL friends, yet I was constantly hoping for things to get better, or at least remain well. My actions, deeply immature and selfish, has brought pain to many, including myself. Pride has hindered me too many times. However, whatever insecurities I feel about my emotions have managed to be resolved, and I feel as though I can face tomorrow as a man.
Via the Internet and mobile phone, dear faraway friends have kept in touch with me, and I'm truly grateful to you for still remembering me, to Matthew, to Jo, to Jonas, to Zhen Ning. To those near me, thank you for sticking with me this past year and still sticking, to my housemates back at Hillpark, to Edmund, Guo Shen, Ai Li, to my coursemates, Lydia, Carmen, Ray, to Khuan, Mei Xuan and Jing Yi. And to one very important person, whose feelings for have deepened through time and tribulations, thank you so much for everything.
The honeymoon years in my university life is reaching its end, and I am prepared to face the future, to live a life truly fulfilled.
Goodbye, 2010. You've truly been a blast :)
Why is my life so complicated?
