Ominous

This holidays, many funerals have happened around me, two involving my own relatives. Old age. Weak. Fragile. A small accident will extinguish the tiny speck of life left in them. Naturally, my thoughts would have turned to my grandparents as well. When will they depart from this mortal realm forever? Next year? Or in the span of five or ten years?

While my studies are slowly moulding me into shape for my adulthood, I realised that on the other hand, our elderly are one step closer to leaving. We may have all the time in the world to pursue our dreams, but what chance is there that our grandparents, who've looked upon us with admiring hope, will see our ambitions to fruitation? What chance is there for them to share our success and for us to repay them? What chance do they have to see our children, and to carry them like they've did us decades ago?

We cannot delay any longer. One failure is another year, hour, second wasted.

Time is short. Make haste.

Broga Hill 21-11-2009

It was a dash of adventure which led me to the place where heaven can be felt.

A split-sudden decision at MSN was what started it all. Waking up at 3 in the morning, a short drive to Murni for a package of light breakfast, and armed with but a torchlight and a sweater, we hit the highway towards Semenyih. For 40 minutes we drove on a deserted highway, guided by our trusty Google Map, until our true journey starts. The road was pitch-dark, and after many dead ends and misadventures, we finally arrived at the foot-entrance of the hill. Who knew it'll be in a palm oil plantation next to a rabbit farm?

The sun was about to rise, so we wasted little time. But the beautiful pictures seen in blogs belie the difficult jungle hike to get there. Totally unexpected, yet we trudged on through the slippery, steep track. After all that, we only managed to reach the first of five peaks, but the view is breathtaking enough, even with the clouds and mist covering the rising sun.

I HATE IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE

This is a warning before you read this:
If you are not prepared to hear some silly lengthy rant, then get the message above and STOP READING.

First, let me get this out of my chest.

I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE SELFISH, IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE !!!!!!!!

I can't stand it whenever they neglect doing what they are supposed to do. I can't stand it when they just leave without first finishing what they are supposed to do. I can't stand it when they simply regard other people around them as invisible and they themselves do whatever they like.

If you are cheating on the hospitality of the responsible people then you should just STOP AND GO AWAY.

Call me oversensitive. Call me resentful. But I know there are people like this all around me. I don't want to say names. I just want them to OPEN THEIR EYES.

I know by ranting it out here the message will never ever get through to the aforementioned people above, but if you post it out on Facebook the whole message will get so screwed up when the comments pour in, nobody will take heed anyway. And soon my PM will be drowned out by other people's rubbish posts...

So here's a last shot to these type of people (WARNING: abusive content. Watch only if you're open-minded enough):

Rant over.

1/7 Saber Lily ~Distant Avalon

I am not into anime figurines until I saw this at a posting of DannyChoo.com ...

Above image from DannyChoo

Fans of Fate/stay night will surely recognize her... Yes, she's Saber, albeit in an alternate form called Saber Lily, introduced in a PS2 fighting game called Fate/unlimited codes. Some say the 'Lily' is derived from the way her skirt opens up like a lily when viewed from above.

This figure of Saber Lily is a product of Good Smile Company, a reputed figure maker.

Then I got hooked... I begin to find out more about this awesome figure, and found tons of rave reviews from various blogs, touting it as the best figure of the second half of year 2009...

It certainly has what it takes to be the best figure... Cool action pose, superb details, pleasant colour combination and the best rendition of Saber's face on her figure that I've seen.

The only setback is its hefty pricetag of 9800 yen... but I doubt there'll be even one being sold in any hobby shop in Malaysia... because almost all online stores already labeled this figure as 'Sold Out'. The people who got this figure booked waaaaaayyy back before the release, and boy were they many... Most reviewers certainly did not mind the price, as the quality of this figure is just stunning.

Not planning to buy this (not that I can afford it anyway even if I managed to find one)... For poor people like me, we can only drool...

All above pictures are taken from Good Smile Company's website.

Ready for Hibernation

Yes, you heard that right. But I'm not quitting Facebook. I still want to catch my Rockstar mouse ^_^

Anyway blog posts will be (somewhat) absent until the exams are over. Whoopdee-doo-da!

Not that there are much to blog about anyway. Not much new Gundams this month, and most of the good ones that attracted my eye are much too pricey T.T The DHU factors for Mousehunt and Mythmonger are too atrocious to speak here, and watching my friends overtaking me in the charts and unable to reach them made it more swell. Studies... well, time is running short...

Roller Coaster Ride

In a quick span of a month, many news, for good or bad, has been noted (and moaned).

1. I foolishly banged into a bike as I was reversing for a car to get out of the parking space. Sweet. And the victim is a police officer =.= Goodbye, RM100~~~

2. My car's air conditioning has been replaced. Now to see whether it'll overheat again when I drive to Puduraya ;)

3. RON 95 saves more petrol than RON 97 >.<

4. My personal stock of food has always been instant noodles and bread (and an occasional orange).

5. I'm now playing Mythmonger together with Mousehunt. And it seems for both, my DHU (Devs Hate U) factor has been ridiculous.

6. MG Astray Blue Frame Second Revise has to be one of the coolest MG kit after Gundam Exia.

7. Back to abnormal sleeping times. Why can't the people around me just give me a break?

8. Finished my English oral group discussion simulation. It was FUN :D

9. I still have mooncakes in the fridge. What am I to do with them?

10. PTUM Cultural Night was a blast! Enjoyed the performance about a clumsy god totally.

11. I am quitting EDMAT as soon as I have the opportunity. The workload in sending the fax was TORTURE. And you ask me to go for marketing drive as well? Fat chance. I'll do my duties as Head of Delegation, full stop.

12. I barely have any handphone credit left. Anybody care to donate? ;)

13. Our house electricity and water bills just keep going up and up.

14. And my tummy's just keep getting wider and wider.

15. Ulcer is bothering me.

16. Lessons are killing me.

17. Been parking lately inside the faculty itself. Shhh.

18. APK during first semester is pretty much a low-key affair compared to the second semester's.

19. Watched a few good videos posted in Facebook by my friends.

20. Lost contact with the outside world totally. Except perhaps the English Premier League. And new Gunpla releases.

21. The highlight of this blog, and so totally absurd. One of my lecturers, who IS usually late for class and taught us nothing but how to read directly from the slides and listening to his voice and setting us hefty tutorials at the end which I assume he didn't even bother to check after we completed it, THIS particular lecturer, came early for once into class, complaining about the recent feedback he received from the evaluation of his class.

(fyi, all UM students have to make subject evaluations every time near the end of semester, maximum [best] evaluation is 6 while lousiest is 1)

He said it is unfair for students to give him 3 for punctuality when the students are usually the ones late, and for that he deserves a 6 instead. And he's an Associate Professor Doctor FOR GOD's SAKE!!! Why wouldn't he just grow up instead of ranting? Instead of looking at your mistake, you deliberately make a change for a day and make it as though we students are the one ones making a mistake. Haven't you attended Critical Thinking class before you graduate? Then you should know that it is a FALLACY when you point other people's mistake in order to cover yours. Also, as a lecturer, YOU have the responsibility of arriving earlier than your students, not the other way around. Honestly, this is the only ONE lecturer I ever had in UM whom I have NO RESPECT AT ALL.

Rant over. Equilibrium has been restored.
